Local Government

By statute, Las Vegas is a municipality in mayor-council form with an elected mayor and eight city councilors. The city manager is the chief administrative officer. Las Vegas is the San Miguel County seat. The county officials include a county clerk, county assessor, county treasurer, a county sheriff, five county commissioners, one state representative and one state senator.
