Start up a New Business- Business Incubator

Have an idea for a new product or service? The LVSMEDC wants to help.

We now have an incubator to help entrepreneurs make their dreams of owning their own company a reality. The incubator is located at New Mexico Highlands University in the School of Business, Sininger Hall, room 107. We offer a place where anyone interested in starting a business or an owner of an existing business can get assistance. We recruit people from the general area to come in, describe their ideas and get support to see if their ideas can become viable businesses. Volunteers from the business leaders from the community evaluate the ideas, offer suggestions, and help create business plans. The incubator center offers business connections for development of the company and mentoring to bring the person or group.

• Design of collateral materials, website production, press releases and other marketing techniques

• Appropriate mentor assigned to each person or group
  
• Suggestions for financial assistance
  
• Help to prepare business licenses and incorporation, if required
  
• Get technical assistance for design and manufacturing, if required

Conditions
Assistance for the first three-month period is free at which point the prospective Company must submit a business plan and meet the review criteria of the Incubator center.

At this point the Incubator personnel will:

• Review the business plan with a mutual decision to continue or quit the business.
  
• Offer fee based rental space within the facility
  
• Help find alternative office space if the incubator facility is not suitable
  
• Estimate costs and budgeting for continuing the business
  
• Help find equipment to start the business
  
• Assistance to find financial resources, if required
  
• Continue the mentoring process
